It’s rare to see such hype surrounding a brand that essentially launched on Instagram in 2014. I followed them right from the beginning and have finally taken the plunge into the world of Glossier. When you see their massive following, the beauty awards for some of their products and their commitment to being a real-life beauty brand, you can’t help but wonder what it’s all about. You might have seen my unboxing on Instagram stories (follow me on Instagram here) and now that I’ve used them for a few weeks, it’s time for a proper Glossier first impressions.

What I was most excited about to try is this serum. It promises to ease and soften tight skin and has a practical dropper to apply the product where you need it. The key ingredients here are hyaluronic acid and vitamin b5. They plump, hydrate and renew the skin to instantly provide softness. I’ve been using it twice a day and have completely fallen for it. I’m intrigued to try their other two serums as those are formulated for dull and stressed skin.

My eyes can’t look away when there’s a rich moisturizer involved. This is their newest product launch and with it being the middle of the winter, I couldn’t not try it. As the name suggests, it is a rich cream. This is truly for the dry skin types out there and would act as a nice overnight cream for the less dry. It’s non greasy (yay!), has an anti-redness complex (yay again!) and nourishes the skin with fatty acids and two types of butters (triple yay!). It provides a super smooth base and a luxurious feeling when applying.

I also picked up this coconut scented universal skin salve that’s been living in my nightstand. You can use it on everything and anything that needs instant hydration but my favorite way to use it is to apply it on my eye lids for a nice sheen. I’m heading to the beach next week and can’t wait to smell like a walking coconut.

I don’t like buying makeup if I know I still have other things to finish (trying to live minimalistic over here), so the only makeup related item I picked up is this blonde brow gel. It’s by far the best brow gel I’ve ever used because it has a precise applicator, the color match is spot on, the pigmentation is just right, you can apply a few layers to intensify and the gel holds it all in place. You can’t ask for more than that.

After only a few weeks of using, I understand why Glossier has the success that it has. For so long I was nervous about buying skincare online when I couldn’t test anything out prior, but I’m so glad I gave them a chance. It’s remarkable to build a beauty brand without store fronts and I can’t wait to see what they’re up to next.
