I’ve never bought a high end mascara before because I just didn’t see a reason for it. There are several great drugstore mascaras out there that I love and I’d rather spend that money on a new eye shadow palette – I’m talking to you Marc Jacobs. Last weekend however Nordstrom ran a sale on mascaras and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give high end mascaras a shot. I should at least try them out once, right?
The Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara was the first one I added to my shopping cart. It’s been getting amazing reviews in the beauty community and I want to see what all the fuss is about. I got it in the classic version and the mascara promises length and volume – don’t they all :-)
Charlotte Tilbury is a very successful British Makeup Artist who just recently launched her brand in the US. The list of celebrities that swear by her is incredible and it’s no surprise that every beauty fanatic has been dying to get their hands on her products. The Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara promises a nice curl, separation, volume, length and drama! A 5 in 1 mascara as she calls it. The packaging is as luxurious as her clientele and I can’t wait to open this baby up.
The last one I picked up is the Lancôme Grandiôse Mascara. I purely got this out of curiosity because the wand has a swan neck, making it a very unique shape. Lancôme has been known to produce great mascaras and I’m eager to see how this one works out.
As you’d expect with high end mascaras the packaging is very elegant and well thought through. I’ll still stay true to my drugstore mascaras but I’m giving these a try in the meantime.
Have you ever used high end mascaras? If so, which one do you swear by?
