The whole idea behind my monthly beauty favorites is to share what I’ve been using almost daily for that month – and man, this April I fell in love with a few items that I’m SO GLAD THEY’RE IN MY LIFE NOW. Okay now that I got that dramatic moment out of the way, let’s get to my April beauty favorites.
Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow: Welcome to the ultimate of contouring and highlighting. I finally bit the bullet and splurged on this stunning palette. I don’t contour every day because LIFE but I love running a bit of the bronze down the sides of my nose and using the highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones. It’s so pretty and natural, I can’t get enough of it. I’ve got a separate post all about it right here. The staying power is incredible, it’s finely milled and the shades look stunning on the skin.
Nars Sin Blush: This color has been on my list for YEARS but I never purchased it because I thought it would be too dark for me. Whelp, I was wrong and it looks freaking amazing – yes even now in the spring. It’s classified as a berry with gold shimmer but you wouldn’t know there was gold shimmer if you just looked at it. The berry color makes my cheeks look naturally flushed and I apply it very lightly because of it’s strong pigmentation. I think that’s why I like it so much – it creates some life and color on my face without being an obvious “she put too much blush on”.
Drybar Hot Toddy Heat & UV Protectant: First of all, this product smells amazing. I love sniffing it every single time I use it and I’ve kind of become addicted to the scent. I think an intervention needs to be staged in the near future. Aside of that, it’s simply an excellent heat protectant. I run it through my damp hair before I start blow drying and it makes my hair feel smooth and less frizzy afterwards. I’m almost out and I’m already looking forward to repurchasing it – that’s how good it is!
Clarins Hydra Quench Serum: I’m so glad I picked this up in my Bellacara beauty haul because this has been SO lovely on my skin. You shake the bottle before applying 1-2 pumps all over your face. It’s super liquidy and sinks into the skin right away. It’s lightweight and provides that perfect base my daily moisturizer. I use it in the mornings and evenings and it’s simply a pleasure to use it every day. It’s so luxurious and makes my skin feel nicely hydrated.
NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm: I just mentioned this in yesterday’s blog post but I’ve become obsessed with liquid lipsticks and this one is the perfect drugstore option. I mean seriously, it’s $6, a beautiful nude matte shade and has a decent staying power. It’s been in my bag at all times – well except when I’m applying it and it’s in my hands. But you get the point… :-)
That wraps up all of my stand out beauty items for the month of April! I’m heading to Los Angeles next week and have already packed way too many beauty products to take with me… Did you have any beauty favorites this past month?
