Best Beauty Products Of 2015

Best Beauty Products of 2015

With the new year comes the time to look back on my favorite beauty products of last year and tell you all about them. They’re a combination of products that I’ve used the most, new launches that I loved the most and things I discovered that impressed me the most. Let’s have a look at my best beauty products of 2015!

Starting off with my tinted moisturizer discovery of 2015: The Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer. It’s moisturizing yet lightweight, has SPF 20 and brightens up your face in a natural glowy way. I wore this pretty much all summer and loved the way it looked on my skin. I have a more in depth review here if you want to check it out.

Moving on to concealers, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is my absolute favorite. I find that the concealer instantly covers any dark circles or redness and I sometimes even use it all over my face if I’m in a hurry – I talked about this more in my 5 Product Face post.

If you’ve been following me over the past few months you won’t be surprised that the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette made this product roundup. I’m specifically in love with the two shades combust – a matte dusty rose that I put all over my lid – and the shade high – which I layer over combust. That’s my go-to every day combination but all of the shadows are so beautiful that I’ve reached for this palette every single time I’ve gone out at night. And the packaging on this one is waaaay better than any other UD palette that they’ve come out with. The magnetic closure gets me every time.

Brow-wise I’ve been using the MAC Brow Pencil (color: lingering) for the past 6 months. It allows me to apply the product lightly and precise and the waxy consistency is perfect for keeping my brows in place.

For liquid eyeliners this also shouldn’t come as a surprise: The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in trooper – aka black. I finished up the entire tube over the course of 2015 and was so impressed with the way it held up on my eyes. It’s easy, precise and lasts until I take my makeup off. My regular eyeliner award goes to the Nars Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner. The name really says it all. It’s incredibly long wearing and most importantly: It doesn’t smudge or give me panda eyes underneath my waterline! You guys don’t understand how long I’ve had to suffer though the panda look until I found this magic eyeliner.

I surprised myself last year by finding a new face powder that I absolutely adore: The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. I’ve been an avid MAC Mineralize Skinfinish user for YEARS but something about this Hourglass powder gives me a beautiful finish. I love setting my under eye area with it because I found the MAC powder to be too heavy for that area. The powder is so finely milled and smooth, I can’t get over it.

Moving on to blushes, the Catrice Defining Blush in the shade 080 Sunrose Avenue is a shimmery dusty rose that reflects beautifully against my skin. It’s become my favorite every day blush and I picked this up from the drugstore in Germany. If you’re following me on Instagram (@viciloves) you will recognize this from some of my posts.

My favorite highlighter of 2015 – and probably of all time – is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. I did an in depth review here and it has truly changed my makeup game. I can’t emphasize enough how obsessed I am with this. I don’t use it every day but it’s so pretty that it makes me want to use it every day.

I have four lip products to share with you. First up is my favorite lip liner of the year and it’s the MAC lip pencil in Dervish. Combined with my favorite lipstick of the year, MAC Viva Glam V, it’s the ultimate nude lip combination for me. I have worn the heck out of this and reach for it any time I’m in the mood to wear a lipstick.

My other two lip products are both glosses. The first one is my ultimate lip product, the YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil (Nr. 6). This came out last spring and I wore it all spring and summer every day, all day. It’s incredibly moisturizing and gives you a beautiful lip stain. Hands down obsessed with this product.

My other lip gloss I discovered in September when Fleur De Force came out with her own makeup range. Her lip gloss in the color Written in the Stars looked so beautiful online and I knew this was going to be living in my handbag. It’s a nude lipgloss that works perfectly with my above mentioned lipstick combination. I slather this on any time I’m running errands throughout the day and want some color on my lips.

2015 was also the year in which I discovered the perfect nude nail polish: The Nails Inc. X Victoria Beckham nail polish in Bamboo White. Oh. My .God. The polish glides on easily, the brush is flat and wide so you get every part of your nail and the color itself is incredibly flattering. It’s always difficult to find a good nude color that works for your skin tone and this one doesn’t make me look washed out at all.

That rounds up all of my best beauty products of 2015! Let me know in the comments below what some of your favorite beauty products were from last year and why they made your list. I wish you a prosperous start into 2016 and let’s make it our best year yet!
