Burt’s Bees Beauty Staples

Burt's Bees Beauty Staples 2

Today I have something really special for you as my dear friend Véronique wrote this blog post! We went to school together in Switzerland and she approached me if I was interested in having her guest blog on Viciloves. Véronique found herself using a lot of Burt’s Bees products and was so impressed with them that she wanted to share them with you. So without further ado, here’s Véronique taking over with her Burt’s Bees Beauty Staples!

Just recently I realized that it was my boyfriend who introduced me to the Burt’s Bees brand. In 2009 he had just come back from a gap year in Santa Cruz and I remember that in the winter he would always carry this little metal tin with beeswax lip balm around. It was like a little souvenir that reminded him of his other home in the US and since Burt’s Bees wasn’t available in Switzerland he brought a whole bunch of them home to stock up on. But of course as time went by he eventually ran out of his favorite lip treatment and had to move on to something else.

A few years later I was running in to my drugstore for a few things and that’s when I discovered the Burt’s Bees products in Switzerland. I immediately thought of my boyfriend and bought a few lip tins for the both of us – I figured I might as well give it a try too! Ever since then I’ve been hooked on it and use the beeswax lip balm every night before I go to bed. I like that it has a thicker consistency as it’s really nice to wear it overnight. You wake up in the morning and your lips still feel moisturized and ready to start the day. I have tried wearing it during the day but noticed that I prefer lighter lip balms when I’m on the go.

After reading an article about face scrubs I realized that I wasn’t using any – I know, I was late to the game. Under the suggested products next to the article there was one brand that I recognized: The Burt’s Bees Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub. Since I already trusted the brand and loved their lip balm (and the price was affordable too) I knew I had to give it a shot. I was once again impressed with the way it felt on my skin and I now use it before I jump in the shower. I wet my face, apply the scrub with my hands and massage it on to my face to remove the dead skin. I have to admit that I didn’t care for the scent at first but I got used to it and actually really like it now. I rinse the scrub off while still being under the shower and can instantly feel how smooth my skin is. The texture might be a little rough for some people but I like how my face feels activated after using this facial scrub. I’ve really come to love this little ritual.

Last but not least I use the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream – especially in the winter when it’s super dry here in Switzerland. In the summer I keep it in my nightstand and apply it before I go to bed while in the winter I always carry it in my handbag. I rub it into my cuticles to prevent them from cracking, flaking and drying. We all know that’s not fun when that happens… And then of course I love the fresh citrus smell – nice and refreshing! The cream itself is a bit greasy but doesn’t take too long to soak in, just don’t use your cellphone right after ;-)

I hope you enjoyed Véronique’s guest post and if you want to see what she’s up to in Switzerland, you can check her out on her Instagram @fioridisambuco. Do you have any Burt’s Bees beauty staples? I’m a big fan of their chapsticks, I currently have two different ones floating around in my bag….oops!
