I don’t know about you, but cleaning your whole place, top to bottom, is a lot of work. I don’t hire out a cleaning service, although the thought has crossed my mind. Cleaning usually falls on the weekend and with Daisy, vacuuming is a must. She doesn’t shed much but it definitely collects in corners.
From having lived in a rental house a couple years ago, I knew that I didn’t want to to fuss with a cord vacuum anymore. It actually made me vacuum the house less (oops?!) because it was heavy, bulky and basically a full body workout. Moving that thing across two flights of stairs and into each room with the cord was so annoying. For my sanity’s sake, it was time to upgrade in my new home.
Let me preface by saying I got it for my birthday. I know it’s a lot of money and well, I get it. I’d been eyeing up Dyson vacuums for years and read many reviews on them. Their technology and product range has always interested me and each Black Friday you’d see me looking at all sorts of Dyson products. I opted for the Dyson V8 Absolute at the time because it has a 40 minute battery charge. It gives me enough time to literally vacuum the house top to bottom.
Another thing that got me super excited about it are all the attachments. There’s one for every vacuum situation and I especially love the crevice tool for the corners of the house. The vacuum has powerful suction and it’s so easy to move it around. You do have to press the trigger while vacuuming but that doesn’t bother me. You can conserve it’s energy really well that way and be more precise about when you want to use it.
Did I ever think I’d write about a vacuum on my blog? Nope! Am I genuinely excited about it and want to share my love for cordless vacuums with you? You bet! As I’ve grown older I’m way more into household items and tools to make my life easier. I don’t stress about cleaning but when I do, I’m so glad to have this practical baby by my side.
Throughout the week I may vacuum the main floor by the entry and kitchen door because that’s where grass and most dirt comes in. I can vacuum dust chunks in a matter of seconds and put it away without making a big fuss. It’s also great when you have unexpected visitors and quickly need to clean the dust under the coffee table. Nothing like having guests over to deep clean your house…am I right?!
How often do you clean your house? Do you have a tool or product you swear by? Please share in the comments as I’d love to know!
