It’s something you *hopefully* do every day and it’s also one of the most important things. I always get questions on what I use on my face and while the products may change, my routine is always the same. And you guessed it, it always starts with washing my face first!
I use micellar water every single day of my life. I rotate brands all the time but right now I’m loving this Origins Mega Mushroom Micellar Water. First I soak it on a cotton ball, then soak it onto my eyes and let it sink into my mascara. After that I take a few fresh cotton balls and rub it all over my face to get the rest of my makeup. I start of with micellar water because it’s easy and most of the time, it gets everything. I’m telling you, get micellar water if you’re lazy with washing your face. It’s literally so easy and doesn’t even require real water! You don’t have to wash it off and it provides a nice layer of hydration.
I’ve mentioned Cosmedix Benefit Clean Gentle Cleanser SEVERAL times and years later, I still love it. It works SO WELL. If I’m in in the mood to wash my face with water (LOL) I like grabbing this one. It does a great job removing eye makeup – and that’s how you really test a cleanser. The gel consistency isn’t stripping and feels wonderful on the skin. I’m simply obsessed with this cleanser.
If my face is looking extra rough or I have a bit of time on my hands, I like to double cleanse. I use Pixi Double Cleanse as it perfectly combines a cleansing oil with a cleansing cream. It feels SUPER luxurious and hydrating on my skin. A cleansing oil does make your eyes cloudy if it gets in the eyes. But that doesn’t bother me so much as it does go away. I take a scoop of cleansing oil and massage it all over. After that’s rinsed off, the cream cleanser feels like a luxe face moisturizer. Once that’s washed off, my face feels smooth as butter.
That’s my first step in my skincare routine and a big one at that. I can’t stress enough how much I rely on micellar water as I’ve talked about its benefits in this *old* post. Let me know if you like this type of breakdown of my skincare routine as I’d love to do more! What are your effective face wash products that you can’t live without?
