Empties Part I

I thought I’d start round-ups of products that I’ve finished up and give you my thoughts on them with an empties series! I ended up collecting so many emptied products that I’m going to do another blog post in the next few weeks with the remaining ones. But without further a due, let’s get started:

Facial Moisturizers

The Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask is fantastic. It’s that good that I’m actually going to do a separate blog post about it. It’s super hydrating and smells peachy, so yummy! Moving on to the Bobbie Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream. I got this upon reading positive online reviews and was excited to try it. But unfortunately I didn’t end up liking it at all! It’s quite pricey for that I could get a better and cheaper alternative somewhere else ( *cough KIEHLS cough*). Although it was moisturizing it didn’t sink in well and I really had to rub it into my skin. Considering the hefty price tag and not having a good consistency, I don’t recommend it.

Makeup

Going back to the Origins brand, the Plantscription Anti-Aging Concealer is amazing! It comes in six different shades and I used the shade light. It’s nice and creamy with high coverage that doesn’t look cakey. It has a tip applicator which makes it great for applying it all over the face on small blemishes. It may be more expensive than a drugstore concealer but it lasted me forever and again, I can’t stop talking about what great coverage it provided. Definitely getting this one again! I also finished up the Sonia Kashuk concealer that I mentioned in my March Beauty Favorites and I highly recommend this one for any drugstore lovers out there.

For mascaras I have two L’Oréal ones: Voluminous Million Lashes and Voluminous Million Lashes Excess. I feel like everyone has their favorite mascara brand and with me it’s L’Oréal. I loved both of them as they gave me full voluminous lashes and separated them nicely. The excess mascara has a longer brush head so it just depends on what you prefer between the two. And as the last makeup item I have the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray. It’s specifically for dry and combination skin as it’s supposed to hydrate and not make it feel tight. I’m currently still on my L’Oréal setting spray but I’ll definitely repurchase this one down the road.

Makeup Remover

The Body Shop’s Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover was just that: gentle. It was almost too gentle because I had trouble getting my mascara off at the end of the night. I liked the clean camomile smell but that was about it. I’m currently using the camomile cleansing balm from the same line and that’s been working out for me a lot better. Moving on to the most hyped up cleansing product: Micellar Water. I’m also on the Bioderma bandwagon but since it’s not widely available I gave the Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water a go. It worked just as great with removing my makeup and is definitely cheaper than Bioderma. It’s not available in the US but if you can get your hands on it in Europe I’d definitely pick it up.

Hand Creams

I finished up another Body Shop product called the Absinthe Purifying Hand Butter. I got this as a present and I didn’t like it. Yes it was really moisturizing but I didn’t care for the smell at all. It says that it conceals hand odor and it sure did with that ‘love it or hate it’ strong Absinthe smell. Another hand cream I finished is the Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer. I’m pretty sure this is not a hand cream because you can also use it as a body lotion. But since it was in a smaller packaging l counted it as a hand cream. I liked it but thought it was a bit to greasy for throughout the day. For me this is more of a ‘next to your nightstand’ kind of cream. Last but not least my favorite out of the three is the Gold Bond Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream. It absorbs quickly and is 100% non greasy. I have exceptionally dry hands and this one is great for everyday because it keeps your hands moisturized even after you’ve washed your hands. I absolutely love it!

That’s it for my first empties haul! Let me know which products you’ve used up recently and what you thought of them!
