Gentle Face Cleansers

The temperatures are dropping, sweaters are being brought back out and with that, there also comes a change in my skincare regiment. While I always switch to heavier, more moisturizing creams, it’s equally important to use gentle face cleansers in the months to come. It’s the first step in a skincare routine and shouldn’t be disregarded. The cold is harsher on the skin, resulting in more dry spots, redness and inflammation. Gentle face cleansers prepare your skin for the wintery days ahead and ensure that it doesn’t suffer from outside influences.

If you have dry or sensitive skin you should already be using a gentle face cleanser throughout the whole year but for the other skin types out there, now’s the time to pick one up. I have three gentle face cleansers I can recommend, all of which I use on a continuous basis to remove my makeup and clean my skin. The It Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm is life changing. I kid you not, it gets rid of all your makeup without any hesitations. Several layers of mascara, a smokey eye and red lipstick? No problem. It’s consistency reminds me of coconut oil, is formulated with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and leaves my skin hydrated and supple.

My two other recommendations are the Gentle Cream Cleanser by Alchimie Forever and the Cosmedix Benefit Clean Gentle Cleanser. The Alchimie Forever cleanser has a true creamy consistency while the Cosmedix is a clear / yellow tinted liquid cleanser. They both retain moisture in my skin and don’t irritate my eyes.  Alchimie Forever’s cleanser is not suited for oily or acne prone skin whereas the Cosmedix cleanser can be used on all skin types. I love both for different reasons so it depends on your skin type and what consistency or ingredients you prefer in a cleanser. Have you made the switch to a gentle face cleanser yet?
