January Beauty Favorites

I don’t have that many January beauty favorites because I wasn’t wearing a whole lot this past month. In case you missed my blog post on how I broke my foot, I haven’t been able to do anything other than resting on the couch and keeping my foot above heart level. But let’s get to the good stuff..

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Cream: I tried out a new face serum which turned out to be a disaster as it dried out my face like no other. I’ve now solely been using the Clinique cream and it’s restored the moisture back into my skin. I’m already a HUGE fan of their regular dramatically different lotion (see my holy grail face product post) and this one is a dry skin lover’s dream. I will continue to use this one in the colder months because it has a slightly thicker consistency and provides the hydration that my skin needs. I’ve even started using it at night and adding an oil on top of it. So good!

Drybar Hot Toddy Heat Protectant: Haircare wise I’ve been trying out the Drybar products for the past two months and I finally get why they’re such a huge success! Let me first mention how amazing the products smell…No wonder everybody likes getting their hair done by them! Especially with the Hot Toddy heat protectant I’ve noticed a significant difference. I blow my hair out and I can tell how my hair is softer, smoother and less frizzy. I use it in combination with the Drybar blow dryer and they’re truly a match made in heaven. My hair feels less damaged and I’ve actually been heat styling it more because it feels that much better.

Catrice Eyebrow Set: I loooove filling in my eyebrows. I don’t feel complete without them and I actually wrote a separate blog post on the importance of filling in your eyebrows a while back. I picked up the Catrice brow set while I was in Germany and it’s the best brow product that I’ve come across from the drugstore. It comes with two shadows and I use the lighter shade as the other one is way to dark for me. It comes with a little brush underneath and it’s come in handy for when I coudn’t find my regular eyebrow brush. What can I say, I live in an organized chaos. If you’re looking for a super affordable eyebrow color I’d check this out immediately. Catrice is available at Ulta in the States by the way..

Catrice Illuminizing Blush: Staying on brand, the Catrice Illuminating blush is such a beauty! It has a little bit of a highlighting effect built into the blush and illuminates your cheeks in the most natural way. It enhances your natural skin tone and gives it a little boost in the right direction. It’s a great ‘no makeup’ blush and looks effortless.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara: Last but not least I just finished up this mascara that I’ve been wearing for the last 3 months. I got it as a sample and even though mascaras are so subjective, I really enjoyed this one. The bristles were dense and fluffy and allowed for it to reach all of my lashes while providing a nice black coating. I could build it up nicely and it wouldn’t stick my lashes together, which is one of my main pet peeves with mascaras. It provided a beautiful amount of volume and generally really impressed me.

As always please let me know what some of your favorite beauty products where of the last month. You know I’m always on the hunt to try out something new :-) Have a great February!
