While I was roaming the aisles of Sephora a few weeks ago, I came across the Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer. It caught my eye because it has SPF 20 and promises lightweight and flawless coverage. My face doesn’t need much coverage, however I do like something that will color correct and bring a little bit of life into my face. I don’t often wear foundation because I find it looks cakey on me, due to my dry skin. I would rather just use concealer to cover up any blemishes. This is where a tinted moisturizer comes in as it not only moisturizes but also provides sheer coverage to any discoloration. Add a little concealer and the no makeup makeup look is halfway completed.
Laura Mercier has three different types of tinted moisturizers with the illuminating being for dry skin. I chose the lightest of the five available shades: Bare Radiance. I’m really happy with it because it sinks well into the skin and is easy to distribute. The tinted moisturizer gives my skin a healthy glow like I just came out of the sun and evens out my skin tone without feeling heavy. It’s silky smooth and is truly a lightweight moisturizer with a bit of shimmer to it. I have been wearing mine for the past two weeks and can’t seem to stop reaching for it. I can already tell this is going to be a great product for hot summer days and beach vacations.
There are a few online reviews complaining about the shimmer being overwhelming and I can see how if you don’t have dry skin, it’s not flattering on you. The other two types of tinted moisturizers that you could look into don’t have a shimmer to it: The Broad Spectrum and Broad Spectrum Oil Free. Both of those ranges have a wider shade selection than the illuminating moisturizer.
I’m tempted to try more Laura Mercier products now that I have fallen in love with this one. Do you have any recommendations for me?
