I’m back with another drugstore makeup post as I had to tell you about this new release ASAP. I spoke about my love for lipglosses in this post and as soon as spring hits, I have to get my gloss on. It’s like clock work! The shininess, the juiciness… I love it all!
This newly released lipstick range packs on the shine. They are creamy with no shimmer and feel extremely hydrating on the lips. It feels like you’re treating your lips and gives a fullness to the lip. If you love glosses, you need to check them out. The full line has 16 shades and I’ve tried 9 of them. My favorite colors are:
– Glossy Fawn: The perfect brown nude that I’m going to be wearing all the time
– Polished Tango: A pinky pastel that flatters my fair complexion. I like natural pinks and this fits my bill
– Sparkling Rose: More of a rosy nude that’s great when you want a bit more than your regular brown nude. I’m all about OPTIONS.
– Varnished Rosewood: A mauve shade that intensifies my natural lip color. Beautiful. I have a feeling this will be my go-to in the fall.
The colors itself look intense in the tube but they apply sheer. Don’t be afraid to go for a darker color as it won’t apply that dark. You can build up the intensity with just a few swipes and get the perfect glossy lip.
I absolutely love the packaging. It looks high end with its clear tube and gold belt. The product has a rounded cut so it’s not like a traditional lipstick with a pointed tip. The color shine lipsticks are truly a lipgloss in a tube. The lid fits well on top and clicks in so you know it won’t come off in your handbag.
As with most gloss products, there’s no real staying power and they’re not long wearing. You do have to reapply after you eat and top it off. However it doesn’t get outside of the lines of your lips and doesn’t clump up on the sides. I do make sure my lips are properly moisturized beforehand to get rid of any dry spots. They are lightly scented but not strong enough that I could pinpoint what it is.
Are you going to get your gloss on for spring? Or are you going to stick with your trusted matte formula? I’d love to know in the comments!
