Recently I’ve been trying to make an effort to get out of my style rut. I noticed that everything in my wardrobe is solid colored and mostly black, grey, navy or cream colored. I’m trying to add more life to my wardrobe so I decided to give these Madewell ripped jeans a try (and they’re currently on sale!). I love the casualness of ripped jeans and I practically lived in them in this travel post.
Last weekend Greg and I went to National Harbor as it’s right across the bridge from our house and has tons of great restaurants. I wore this lace detail Halogen top – that I picked up during last year’s Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale – and I love that I can easily dress up with a black pair of pants. My black Everlane loafers go with practically everything and they are so comfortable after you break them in.
In my weekly newsletter this week (sign up here if you want to join the list) I talked about how I need to update my spring wardrobe. On the top of my list is adding in more versatile tops, such as the one I’m wearing in this post. Tops that I can pair with a cardigan or blazer and that work well for a weekend brunch or dinner date night. Shopbop just started running a sale yesterday through March 4th and I’m thinking of adding this Free People Lace Top, this Endless Rose Boho Top, and this Ella Moss Cold Shoulder Top to my wardrobe. Do have a style rut you’re trying to break?
