My Mauve Lip Collection

Mauve Lip Collection

Mauve Lip Collection

Recently I sorted through my makeup collection and noticed that I have a lot of mauve lip products. Something about that pink berry color pulls me in every single time. I can’t pull off a true pink without looking (and feeling) ridiculous so that’s where the mauve lip color comes in.

I have at least two of these in my handbag at any given time. It’s a natural enough of a lip color to not look overtly done up and provides a great alternative to a brown nude. I try to go for an effortless makeup look and that’s where a mauve lip is just the right amount of color for me.

My collection consists of a MAC lip stick in Syrup, the hydrating NARS lip pencil in Rikugien, two lip stains (Sephora Matte Luster and Manhattan Lip Lacquer) and a Revlon lip balm in Honey.

They’re all affordable products (okay I admit, MAC and NARS aren’t exactly from the drugstore – but considering their brand, they’re not too expensive) and that’s what makes me love them even more. I think a mauve lip color works on any skin tone and belongs in every makeup collection.

I feel like we all have a color that we gravitate towards. It draws us in every time we see it and our mind makes us justify buying it over and over again. Which color speaks to you in that way?
