Recently I attended an organic beauty event, hosted by Sara from Skincando, where I got a proper introduction into the world of organic beauty. I learned about the benefits of organic ingredients and was lucky enough to leave with a plethora of organic skincare products to try at home. This is the first time I’m delving into organic beauty and I’m eager to see what results I will get from it. One of the main reasons people switch to organic products is because their skin is reacting badly to “regular” skincare. Some of the ingredients in those are too harsh and can worsen skin if it’s very sensitive or problematic. While this scenario doesn’t apply to me, I know many friends and family whose skin has improved immensely from organic skincare products.
There are a few products I started using immediately after the event, namely the Meow Meow Tweet Grapefruit Deodorant Cream and the Shamanuti Seaweed Toner. The deodorant truly works and it doesn’t bother me having to apply it by hand. It’s citrus smell is refreshing and is more effective than the ones I’ve tried from the drugstore. The seaweed toner transports you to a relaxing spa experience and I spritz it on after I’ve washed my face. I like that it balances out my skin’s pH level and I follow it up afterwards with a hydrating serum.
Skincando has perfected it’s miracle face cream and you only need a small amount to cover your face. I’m still finishing up a different moisturizer (I have a one-at-a-time rule) but I can’t wait to delve into this magic cream. I did start using her combat ready balm and am IN LOVE. It’s meant for kids and babies but adults can use it too, I promise. I use it as a hand cream and love that it sinks in well but still leaves me feeling moisturized. The ingredients used are excellent and she specifies which ones are natural and / organic.
EcoTools is an eco-friendly makeup brush brand and I’m so excited to finally start using them. I’m starting out with this makeup brush set and also have their powder brush and makeup sponges to test out. I love supporting environmentally friendly brands and will keep you posted on my thoughts. So far I’ve only used their spoolie brush and love the overall softness of all the brushes.
I’ve gotten a few requests to feature more organic beauty on VICILOVES and I can’t wait to share that side of beauty with you. Do you currently use organic beauty products and if so, which products do you swear by?
