November Beauty Favorites

It’s been a while since I did my last monthly favorites and it makes it that much more exciting to share what items I’ve been reaching for in this November beauty favorites. Because it’s so easy to fall into a makeup rut where you use the same products over and over again, I like to switch up my combinations to keep my routine – and life ha! – interesting. Rediscovering an item that I’ve had for a while and realizing why I love it so much is half the fun. Starting on that note, I have been LOVE- ING this face primer. Now that it’s officially cold in DC it’s more important than ever to look luminous and glowing. It prevents my face from looking dull and creates a moisturizing base for the rest of my makeup. But who am I kidding, this plant based primer smells so good, I would use it as a body lotion if I could. Maybe I will? Just kidding….?

Two items from the trusted It Cosmetics brand have also been in my rotation. This concealer is full coverage, gets rid of your dark circles and brightens up your under eye area in a breeze. I’ve had quite a stressful month from traveling around Europe and dealing with locating a dead animal smell in my house (it’s as fun as it sounds). This concealer makes me feel like a human again and I already have a second tube of it in my drawer. After it’s three months were up I kicked my old mascara to the curb and opened up this new one. It has a thick bristle wand that volumizes and thickens the lashes while also lengthening them. The consistency is quite wet so it’s easy to build up several layers and get a dramatic effect. I approve.

Fun Fact: You should change out your mascara about every three months due to bacteria forming

I have tried many eyebrow pencils and so far my favorite is still this one. I know it’s not budget friendly but it is lasting me very well. The product transfers easily on to my brows, it doesn’t hurt to apply it like some cheaper versions do and it stays put. The spoolie did break off on the other side of the pencil after only having it for a few weeks – which apparently is a common problem with it – but I can’t get over how great the product itself is. And I also already have a backup one waiting in my vanity. I can’t get enough of it.

I’ve been using this eye gel to tighten my under eye area. It alleviates the puffiness and minimizes the appearance of fine lines. I realized that I like using an eye gel over an eye cream because it wakes me up more in the morning and provides a soothing cooling effect. I also like how compact the tube is as it’s easy for me to travel with it and isn’t a heavy jug of an eye cream.

The last item is this hair clip that has been so helpful when styling my hair. I used to clip my hair with whatever random hair clip I could find but since being introduced to the land of proper hair styling clips, I can never go back. I have two of them and It’s simplified the way I section my hair off because they don’t tug or leave any dents in my hair. You may hesitate to spend money on them but trust me, they are worth it. I’ve had them for well over a year now and they still look as good as new.

As we head into the busy month that is December, I wish you a wonderful and festive season filled with cookies, mulled wine and holiday music. Tell me, what are you most looking forward to in December?
