A few weeks ago I went to the NYX Cosmetics Store at Tysons Corner to celebrate their opening. When I first heard about it I was really excited because I didn’t even know that NYX had their own stores! Who knew, right?

Let me tell you, it was such a treat to walk through the newly opened space and swatch every product imaginable. I’m pretty sure I had at least 5 lipstick swatches on the back of my hand in the first few minutes – what can I say, I love makeup! The eye catcher of the store was the NYX Beauty Bar where you could get touch ups and learn different makeup techniques through their video tutorials. I thought that was super neat as they offer different tutorials depending on what skin type you have.

I’m familiar with NYX Cosmetics but I had no idea they had this many products! Especially their range of colors is impressive – you can find eyeliners in all sorts of fun colors and their lips section is to die for. The brand itself is very affordable and if you’re looking to experiment with vibrant colors that are more than your average nude, this is your dream come true.

Eclair, Candy Buttons Bonbons, Tiramisu, Stockholm

To me, NYX does lip products the best. Their butter gloss is one of the most hyped up lip glosses in the beauty industry and if you haven’t gotten a hold of one yet, what are you waiting for? For this spring I’ve fallen in love with four different lip products that I’m rotating in my bag:

NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss in Tiramisu + Eclair*: I know this sounds silly but the texture is truly buttery soft and not sticky – I hate sticky lip glosses! First I thought that Eclair would be way too pink for me but it’s actually quite sheer so I don’t feel like a Barbie doll when I wear it. The second color Tiramisu is SO PRETTY. It’s a darker “your lips but better” color and I’ll either wear it on it’s own or I’ll layer it on top of the next product.

NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm: Yes you guessed it, I’m totally into the matte lip trend right now and this color is so 90’s! It’s opaque and not overtly drying on the lips – you can’t ask for more. As mentioned, I’ll layer the Tiramisu Butter Gloss on top of it if I want to achieve a bit more of a glossy look plus I think the colors work really well together.

NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Candy Buttons Bonbons*: The name sounds ridiculous but it’s a gorgeous coral for the spring and summer. I’m waiting to get a little more tan before I wear it on repeat but the formula is amazing. It’s a semi sheer, buildable lipstick with that same buttery feel on your lips. Very hydrating and comfortable to wear and my favorite way to wear it is to apply it straight on to my lips and then dab the color my ring finger. It gives me a fuller, more plump effect and distributes the color beautifully.

I know NYX Cosmetics is slated to open a lot more stores around the country so I’d definitely check out if there’s a store opening near you. The selection alone is incredible…What are some of your favorite NYX products? Any bestsellers I should try out?
