Last Friday I attended the store opening of Origins Skincare at Tysons Corner Mall. I use their Drink Up Intensive Mask religiously (last seen here) and have been a loyal fan of the brand since before I even started this blog! Origins kindly sent over a few products in anticipation of it’s store opening and I wanted to do a quick review.

The Products

Origins A Perfect World SPF 20: This anti aging eye cream is made with white tea, which is known for its high antioxidant concentration and ability to delay aging. The consistency of the eye cream is just the right amount of smooth. Some eye creams are way to liquid and this one strikes the right balance. It’s quickly become part of my skincare routine with its SPF 20 and my under eye area has been loving it.

Origins By All Greens: It’s a foaming deep cleansing mask that I can use 2-3 times a week. I LOVE the texture that it creates when coming in contact with water. I massage it into my face, leave it on for a bit and rinse it right off. Even though it’s deep cleansing, it doesn’t steal any hydration from me. Instead, it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and dewy. And it smells like I’m getting a luxurious facial. Truly divine.

Origins Modern Friction Cleansing Stick: I was very intrigued by this as I don’t think I’ve ever used a cleanser in stick format like this. It’s filled with white and purple rice to give your skin gentle exfoliation. I wouldn’t use this to remove makeup as you shouldn’t use it in your eye area. But as a designated skin cleanser, I really enjoy it. It feels oddly nice to rub it over my face and massage my skin a bit while doing so. The rice beads are gentler than other exfoliants that I’ve used since they are less harsh. Once I’ve rubbed it on my face, I massage it in with some water. I gently exfoliate and the product lathers up to a moisturizing consistency. This cleansing stick is also great for traveling because you don’t have to worry about liquid travel limits.

Origins Active Charcoal Cleansing Powder: Charcoal is known for it’s detoxifying properties and I like that with this product, I can choose how much I put on my face. I mix a bit of the powder with a few drops of water and rub it on to my face. You could also mix it in with a liquid cleanser if you prefer. I use this about 2 times a week since I don’t want to dry out my skin too much.

In Store Mini Facial

After chatting with the store’s staff and checking out the product range, I was treated to a lovely mini facial. I documented it all on my Instagram stories and I wanted to mention a few of the products that were used on me.

1. Three Part Harmony Cleanser // Loved the feeling of this cleanser. It removes all of your makeup and is a foaming cream to oil cleanser. Perfect for dry skin friends!

2. Dr. Weil Mega Mushroom Soothing Treatment // According to the store’s associate, this is the number 1 bestselling product worldwide at Origins. It’s great for sensitive, redness prone skin and I absolutely loved it on my face.

3. Dr. Weil Mega Defense Oil // A hydrating facial isn’t complete without an oil. This lightweight oil targets the environmental pollutants on your skin and is perfect for your night time routine.

4. Three Part Harmony Nourishing Cream // Filled with plant butters and Vitamin E, this moisturizer sealed the deal on hydration and finished off a relaxing facial.

The store itself is beautifully decorated and features their entire product range. I wasn’t aware that they also made body products and fell in love with their ginger body butter. It smells just like a spa and gives you that relaxed feeling. If you’re in my neck of the woods near Tysons Corner, stop by and see for yourself!
