Refocus

Is it just me or is this summer flying by? We’re already in the last week of July and it’s been a whirlwind of a month for me. It started out in South Carolina on the lake celebrating the fourth of July and relaxing by the pool. A few days after I got home I took a last minute trip to San Francisco to be a part of an exciting project (blog post coming on that soon!) and then a few days after that I took a 48h trip to Colonial Williamsburg and the Outer Banks. Phew!

Not going to lie, it’s been a bit overwhelming to keep my blog posts going throughout that time. I don’t want to write lackluster content just for the purpose of hitting that ‘publish’ button and having something new up. I have to remind myself sometimes to take a break and REFOCUS on what truly matters to me and what type of content I want to produce. A blog never gives you a break or vacation unless you give it yourself. Although unplanned, giving myself time to refocus and dedicate myself toward the things I’m truly passionate about is exactly what I needed.

August is another busy month as I’m heading to The Blog Societies Conference in Charleston, South Carolina next week. I’ve never been and I’m SO excited to explore the city. I already know I’m going to fall in love…If you have any suggestions on places to eat and things to do please pop them in the comments below!

As I’m planning out my content for the next few months I want you to know it’s okay to be overwhelmed. Don’t feel guilty for taking a break – even though I did – and most importantly, refocus and get back to what drives you the most. Refocus on what gets you excited, no matter what situation you’re in. Refocus on yourself and everything will be just fine.
