Sephora VIB Haul

Twice a year Sephora runs a sale for it’s beauty insider members and I look forward to it every time because I can snag a few items that I’ve been meaning to get for a long time. Today is the last day to take advantage of the Sephora VIB Sale so I thought I’d share what I got along with a few first impressions.

The first big purchase for me was a new hair straightener. As someone with naturally curly hair a hair straightener is an essential tool. I don’t straighten my hair every time I wash my hair but I do tend to use it at least once a week. The one I currently had I bought in college and was the Sephora brand straightener – not bad but also not exactly the best quality. I decided it was time for an upgrade because I know it will last me for years to come. I read tons of reviews on different hair straighteners and decided to go with the GHD Classic 1″ Styler. I was debating getting the 2″ version but I’ve had a 2″ in the past and even though it’s better if you have long hair, I found it tough to get the smaller parts right at the root of hair straight. I just got it yesterday and haven’t had a chance to try it yet but so far the material itself looks like good quality.

My face has been more dry than usual – who knows what’s going on with it – so I was very excited to pick up the Erborian Bamboo Waterlock Mask because – well I think the name “waterlock” says it all. I got this upon recommendation from Alessandra Steinherr, who is the Beauty Director for Glamour Magazine UK. I follow her on snapchat and she seriously gives the best skincare recommendations. I looked up the brand Erborian as I’d never heard of them before and they’re a Korean / Paris based skincare brand. What drew me in to the mask is that it has a aqua gel texture and I can just see that being super hydrating on my face.

Something a little bit random but I bought new tweezers! Ever since we moved I haven’t been able find my old ones so I purchased the exact same type. I waited until the Sephora sale because $23 for a pair of tweezers is beyond crazy – but they’re SO good! This is again one of those purchases that will literally last you forever, unless of course, you lose them in a move like I did…sigh.

I tried the Aerin Amber Musk a while back in store and completely fell in love with the scent. The price on the full size bottle however was too high for me to justify purchasing it so I decided to order the smaller rollerball bottle. It’s a warmer scent than what I usually go for but something about it just makes me feel good. I love travel size perfumes in general because it gives me the chance to purchase several different scents without having to worry that I’ll never finish a bottle.

The last two items I purchased were both liquid lipsticks! Yes, I have officially jumped on the bandwagon and purchased two shades I have been DYING to wear. The first one is from Anastasia Beverly Hills in “Pure Hollywood” while the other is the iconic Kat Von D “Lolita” shade. I’ve swatched them several times in store and am wearing the Anastasia one as I’m writing this. They staying power is absolutely incredible, I mean….I had a full lunch and afternoon snack and this thing is still on my lips like nothing happened. It is quite drying so after a while I like to lightly apply a sheer lip balm to add some moisture back into the lips.

Those were all of the things I picked up during the Sephora VIB sale! Don’t forget that today is the last day to take advantage of it: VIB Rouge Members get 15% off with the code ROUGENOTE, VIB get 15% off with the code VIBNOTE and beauty insiders get 10% with the code BINOTE. What is on your wish list at Sephora? Did you snag anything during the sale? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to compare notes!
