Switching Things Up Around Here

This post has been a long time in the making. At least in my mind. Tomorrow is the first day of June – my birthday month! – and it also marks a new chapter for Viciloves. For over two years now, I’ve been blogging. I originally started blogging because I was too afraid to start a Youtube channel. The thought of putting myself out there, on video, scared the living daylights out of me. I figured blogging is similar. I can share the things I love with you and have greater control with how I want things to come off. Right?

Then last year I bit the bullet and started my Youtube channel. Don’t worry, you can’t find my first video anymore – it’s already set to private, ha! Since launching my own channel, I’ve been uploading once a week, while putting out 2-3 posts on my blog. And it’s been hard. Not hard because I physically can’t do it all. It’s been hard because I’ve come to resent blogging – kind of. My passion for Youtube has nagged at me since before I even started my blog. And now that I have started my own channel, blogging has become more of a chore than a creative outlet.

And it’s not because of the numbers. I currently get less views on my Youtube channel than my blog. But I don’t care about that. I care about doing something that makes me excited about getting up in the morning. I care about feeling passionate towards something and feeling fulfilled. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is Youtube. Oh how I’ve been dying to say that….

What changes can you expect from me? I will be expanding my Youtube channel to 2 videos a week. Which means I will be expanding my video content to include more lifestyle and vlog type videos. Don’t worry, I’ll still be blogging on here. Just differently. I’ll link my videos in blog posts and still write a few blog posts a month with “just” photos. So don’t go away! Only because I’m switching things up around here doesn’t mean I’m leaving. My blog will just be the supporting actress to the leading actress, my Youtube channel. I’m really proud of myself for coming up with that metaphor, ha!

So with that, make sure you are subscribed to my Youtube channel! I’ve got lots of exciting things happening in June – including VidCon – and I’ll be taking you along with me.

PS: If you’re curious about what I’m wearing, I’ve got it all linked in this post.
