This is what it’s like to be 29

Turning a year older is a time to take inventory, and reflect on life – or at least it is for me. I like to think about how much I’ve changed, where I want to go and what I want to achieve in the next year.

This is 29

  • Working out 4-6 days a week because it’s good for my mental (and physical) health
  • Becoming an early morning riser because it’s fun getting up early
  • Recognizing the importance of self-care so I can be the best dog mom, wife and friend
  • Speaking with my therapist every two weeks to keep me sane
  • Realizing that gluten and dairy will never be my BFF’s
  • Not eating breakfast actually makes me feel BETTER. Thanks, Intermittent Fasting
  • Trying to live in the present and not get anxious about the future
  • Trying to accept my body shape and be body neutral
  • Taking the time to read a book and slow down every once in a while
  • Walking Daisy every day and recognizing it as my favorite part
  • Feeling thankful for good health
  • Understanding the power of salt in cooking and adding more than usual
  • Being on a rollercoaster of emotions thanks to owning my own business
  • Trying to manage said rollercoaster emotions with above-mentioned exercise and self-care
  • Wishing I lived closer to my family
  • Yet also loving Alexandria and the house we live in
  • Believing in myself, sometimes more, sometimes less
  • Not getting caught up in other people’s narratives and staying in my own lane
  • Having Daisy as my unofficial emotional support dog (and best friend)
  • Spending quality time with family and friends
  • Loving the life I’ve built for myself. Through all the ups and downs
