Eyebrows are one of my favorite things about makeup. They frame your face and you get instant satisfaction after applying your brow product. At least that’s just me, ha! Over this past year I’ve tried and tested eyebrow products, from the the lower to the higher end of the spectrum and am giving you the run down on all of them:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz: It’s my ultimate favorite brow pencil. Yes, it’s higher priced but you really get a smoother formula, a finer spoolie and a wide color selection (I have it in taupe). I bought my first one last summer and it lasted me until last month, which I think justifies the price if it lasts me that long.
NYX Cosmetics Micro Brow Pencil: This is the drugstore dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills pencil. It works well but the formula is drier and doesn’t glide on as well. The spoolie feels harsher on the skin but again, for the price it gets the job done. I have it in the shade taupe.
It Cosmetics Brow Power Pencil: This one is interesting because it’s a universal color and the more you apply, the darker it gets. I know they’ve come out with individual colored ones since, so I would recommend those over this universal one. I like the smooth formula but I do find that it sheds a bit. When I comb the spoolie through, I have a few particles fall through and I end up using a q-tip to get rid of those few bits. I don’t know if they’ve adjusted the formula in their individual colored range but overall I do like the smoothness and the staying power.
Glossier Boy Brow: It’s quickly dominated my brow regime because I love how easy it is. I simply brush through my eyebrows and depending on how dark I want to go, I’ll do one or two coats. It dries down but doesn’t get crunchy and the hold and color payoff is excellent. I’ve had it for the last two months and it still feels brand new, with no signs of drying out any time soon. I used it when I was in Miami for a bit of defined brows and added another coat at night for an intenser dinner look. I like alternating between this brow gel (I have it in blonde) and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.
Am I missing out on any fabulous brow products? Please share your favorites in the comments below and I’ll make sure to check them out! Oh and yes, I did try the MAC eyebrow pencil and really liked it but I think I didn’t have the right shade in it. I’ll give it a try again though…
